Amenities
A schedule of events for Recreation Amenities is posted at each location and can be viewed on the city's community calendar. All Recreation Facilities are available for rent if registered with City Hall in advance.
Public Parks
The City of Babbitt has 3 recreational parks; one on Central Boulevard, one behind the Municipal Center on South Drive, and one at the public beach. The Central Park was recently rennovated in 2025; a nearly $300,000 project paid for by IRRRB, State Bonding,the Babbitt Lion's Club, Lake Country Power, MN Power, Clevland Cliffs, New Range Copper Nickel, and Pulsar Helium.
Public Beach
Located off Highway 70, the Babbitt Beach is open to the public daily from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. The beach includes many outstanding amenities like pavilions, picnic table seating, charcoal grills, a park, a beach volleyball court, floating rafts, a fishing pier, and more. Pavilions are able to be rented on a daily bases at $25.00/day upon request.
Recreation Committee
Ron Castellano Arena
The Ron Castellano Arena is open each season from October - March. Ice time is used by the Babbitt Figure Skating Club and Babbitt Blueline Club. Ice Time is available for rent if scheduled in advace at the following rates:
- Clubs/Organizations- $80.00/hr.
- Residents- $85.00/hr.
- Non-Residents- $95.00/hr.
Youth Center
The Youth Center is open to grades 4-12 on Thursdays-Saturdays. Time frames are organized by age group as posted.
The Youth Center can be rented for private events at $50.00/hr.
Pickleball
The Municipal Center Gym is home to many of the community's Pickleball groups with ranging timeframes/age groups. All pickleball schedules are posted accordingly, with Open Gym hours scheduled between.
Fitness Center
The City of Babbitt Fitness Center is a membership-based service open to anyone. The $15.00/month membership includes 24/7 access to the facility once enrolled.
