2024 Election Information:
Filing for office with the City of Babbitt will open on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 8:00 a.m. There will be two (2) council seats and one (1) mayoral seat opening for the November 5, 2024 General Election. Further details on how to apply will be made available as information is finalized. If you have any questions, please contact City Hall.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY IS OFFERING ASSITANCE FOR ANYONE AFFECTED BY THE RECENT WEATHER & FLOODING (INFORMATION LISTED BELOW):

In response to the recent wide-spread flooding in St. Louis County, the St. Louis County Board of Commissioners has authorized the Environmental Services Department to accept flood-related debris from residents and businesses of the County Solid Waste Management Area at no charge through Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the following locations: 

  • St. Louis County Regional Landfill; 5341 Regional Landfill Rd. Virginia
  • Aurora Transfer Station; 5910 Highway 135 North, Aurora
  • Brookston Transfer Station; 8609 Highway 2, Brookston
  • Cook Transfer Station; 2134 South Beatty Road, Cook
  • Hibbing Transfer Station; 3994 Landfill Road, Hibbing
  • Northwoods Transfer Station; 9384 Highway 21 North, Ely
  • County 77 Canister Site; 2038 County Road. 77, Tower
  • French Township Canister Site; 7150 Greenrock Road, Side Lake
  • Balkan Township Canister Site; 11489 Vlasich Road, Chisholm
  • Soudan Canister Site; 5160 Highway 169, Soudan

If you are hauling flood-related debris, please note that you should separate household related garbage from demolition debris.

Public Utilities Billing

NOTICE: Public Utilities Bills (green bill) for the month of July will have a $10.50 increase, making the balance $115.50 for all residents. This addition to the bills is ONLY for the month of July due to the State Water Testing Fee. Billing will resume at the regular rate of $105.00 following the month of July.
