  • Babbitt Conservation Club operates a shooting complex available to the public
  • Facilities include 200, 100, and 50 yard bermed firing lines for large and small bore rifles and black powder weapoins, an archery range, a trap range, and a clubhouse.
  • The clubhouse includes a kitchen, meeting area, and two handicapped accesible bathrooms.
  • Monthly business meetings are held at the clubhouse on the second Tuesday of each month (May - October) and are open to everyone.

Babbitt Golf Course

This nine (9) hole public golf course is situated on 71+ acres of City-owned land.  It is leased to, operated and governed by the Babbitt Golf Association, a Minnesota non-profit corporation.  The course is located about 1 1/4 miles west of town on County Highway 21. The course fairways are outlined with various species of pine trees situated on a level terrain suitable and enjoyable for walkers. The course has a complete irrigation system on the fairways, tee boxes, and challenging greens. There are 21 tee boxes of different lengths for all skill levels with red, white, blue, and gold tee markers. The course is well groomed wtih the fairway grass about 5/8 inches and the rough mowed to 1 1/2 inches in height. The course is 3208 yards long (white tees). Par is 35 for men and 36 for women.

The course has about 150 members. Annual memberships are available to the public at reasonable rates. There are 2 cart barns that can accomodate 110 cars. Rental cars are available as well. A large club house is equipped with kitchen facilities, pro shop with golf supplies, golf cart rental, pull cart rental, and stroage for personal golf clubs/pull carts. Green fees are $15 for 9 holes and $25 for 18. Gas cart rental is $15 for 9 holes and $25 for 18. Tee times do not have to be reserved. The Babbitt Golf Association has 3 adult clubs; the Men's Club plays on Wednesdays (senior men play on Thrusdays), the Women's Club, known as the Gay9Tees, plays on Tuesday afternoons, and the Mixed Couples Club plays every other Sunday. During Club times, the course remains open to the public. Various Tournaments are held during the year including the Babbitt Short Stop, Range Senior Men, and the Scholarship Scramnle on Labor Day weekend.

Senior Citizens Center

We provide a social atmosphere for personal interaction and education. 

Meetings:

  • Board - 1st Tuesday of the month at 12:30 pm
  • Regular - 2nd Tuesday of the month - 12:00 p.m. with lunch

Coffee at 7:30 am - 10:30 am Monday - Saturday.  Card games, puzzles, pool, Wii available.

Senior Meals through AEOA are  available Monday - Friday with advance registrations.

BINGO on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 1:00 pm
Garbage BINGO every Thursday @ 1:00 pm
Potluck and movie the 4th Sunday of the month at 3:00 pm, public welcome

BINGO at Central Manor on the 3rd Friday of the month at 1:00 pm

The rooms are available for gatherings (birthday, anniversary, reunions, etc.) and meetings, such as VFW, Lions, MS Support, Cancer Support, etc. The Municipal Center also serves as a great "walking" track for those who wish to walk indoors during inclimate weather. 

Fund Raisers:

  • Harvest Festival in October - lunch, quilt raffle, bake sale, white elephant table.  Tables are available for vendors.
  • Pancake Breakfast for Veteran's Day and St Urho's Day

Our Seniors arrange two bus trips a year and other outings. Contact them for details.
