Wastewater Treatment Plant
In September of 2021, the Public Utilities Commission started a large project for a new Wastewater Treatment Facility to improve mercury removal in the city's wastewater. This massive project will keep the PUC up-to-date with state requirements. This project is expected to be completed in August of 2023.

West Babbitt Development Project
The new West Babbitt Development is located on the west side of town, behind the old Softball Complex. This development, once completed, will offer the town a great opportunity for expansion to include townhomes, residential homes, and an apartment complex.

Babbitt Marina
The Babbitt Marina is a future project idea that is proposed for the west side of Birch Lake. This project would offer a dock system and parking area for the public to load/unload their boats and pontoons, and allow for easy access to the local lake and beaches.
This project is still in the early planning/conceptual stages.
